Local Government Education Authority’s attention on Basic Education has been a right step in the right direction, maintaining the existing system manual method of keeping record for the information system. This project X-ray the problems associated with manual method of record keeping and highlight various benefit derivable when automated version is implemented

INTRODUCTION

 A computer is an electronic device that enables users to key in data, store it, manipulate and produces a refined form of the data referred to as information. This project work at completion with student and staff of local government education authority (LGEA) are relieved of the tedious and voluminous tasks undergo during the recording of the information system in a file for storage. A computer based system will save time, reduce cost of data processing, cut down expenses on purchase of stationary and labour since only the few computer trained personnel would be employed unlike the manual system where a huge amount is incurred on labour and stationary. In order to assist the Universal Basic Education (UBE) primary schools local government of Bida to design and implement an information system for their (LGEA) in meeting the recent challenges and also reduce the inflationary cost on students and staffs of (LGEA) Bida. A new technique for the education authority of (LGEA) Information system ( i.e employment of digital computers) must be designed and implement, the numbers of  staff are limit compared to numbers of students, hence there is need to train and educate staffs on the  uses of computers.

AIM AND OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY

           The aim of this project is to design and implement and replace existing manual method in the (LGEA) with a computer – based system.

The objectives of the project are as follows;

(1).To increase the speed of retrieving information

(2) To design a system that will replace the current manual based information system

(3) To efficiently and accurately maintain the information that stands the test of time in Niger.

(4) To determined and developed appropriate format relevant for simple statistics of (LGEA).

(5) To identify information indices suitable for record retrieval, updating, analyzing and decision making.
