Information, Communication Technology is an integrated part of our society.  Communication tasks in a society include sharing of knowledge, socializing new members, entertaining people, and gaining consensus through persuasion or control (Schramm, 1977). The person or the institution Responsible for carrying out the communication tasks changes with time. For example, parents used to be the major socializing agents in a traditional society, while the schools and the mass media are now playing a more important role in socializing new members in a modern society (Schramm, 1977). Exposure to mass media, in particular the television, was considered a major socializing agent for adolescents (Mangleburg and Bristol, 1998). With new forms of media emerge and the convergence of media technology, the patterns of media usage will inevitably be undergone rapid changes.

Characteristic of the ICTs (Information and Communication Technologies) is the multi-function capacity. For example, a computer can be used for searching information as well as for listening to online broadcast programs. In order to understand how the young consumers use the Internet and the traditional media, we need to look into the specific uses or the specific motivations. Although research about the Internet has grown exponentially along with the development and spread of ICTs, it still remains a comparatively small body of literature (Kim and Weaver, 2002).

The computer system in recent times has become a relevant tool particularly in the area of storage and dissemination of information. The ease with which the computer function that is accuracy and readiness has rendered the manual method almost meaningless.

The government establishment, private firms, institution, individuals etc. are now using computer to solve most of their problems. Academics and administration is not left out in this technology.

The use of computer software by the administrative body of the college of nursing sciences, bida to post students for clinical areas will make it easier and faster for that activity to be done. This will be done at random, that is, posting student are done in particular order. Therefore, with the use of this software, no students will have the idea of where he/she will be posted to; because this will be done by the computer system randomly.

Basically, human beings have their own way to making judgment. This sometimes is full of irregularities, sometimes favoritism and several human factors. Others challenges are;

·        Lake of inadequate records storage facilities for records keeping

·        Bias

·        Preference treatment

 The aim of this project work is to develop a software that can handle the procedures involved in the posting /selection of students into various clinics that are available for within Niger State.

This is made possible by using computer system due to the level of accuracy, consistency and efficiency compared to the manual method that is being used currently at the end of this project. The following goals or objective should be achieved.

1.     The posting of students will be done at the click of a button after the necessary details has been supplied or entered into the computer system.

2.     The number of students posted will be known and the number of students that are not posted will also be known.

3.     There will be provision to search for a particular student records.

4.     The problem of double posting will be dealt with.

5.     The posting that has been done can be referenced when needed.
