ONLINE SURVEY ON THE EFFECT OF MARKETING OF SOFT DRINKS

ABSTRACT

In an era of high degree of competitiveness, if there is one prerequisite to give businesses a competitive edge, it is the need to advertise effectively and efficiently as well as state the ingredients and nutritional value of the products to the customers. Since so much money is being devoted to advertising, analysing its impact remains vital for firms, especially for those forming part of the collusive oligopolistic market of soft beverages, where advertising helps in making the difference in the market place. It was concluded that nowadays, it is important to sustain customer's loyalty to a company's product, hence the need to develop appropriate consumer’s satisfaction strategies like brand equity to prevent consumers from turning un-loyal to the branded products.


INTRODUCTION

Like in most countries, in Nigeria, giant oligopolistic companies such as Coca-Cola or Pepsi Cola or yoghurt are pouring millions of rupees every year in advertising, for they believe it is an unfailing if not a reliable way to promote their products, their brands, their organisation and to reap massive profits. Since so much money is being devoted to advertising, analysing its impact remains vital for firms, especially for those forming part of the collusive oligopolistic market of soft beverages, whereby advertising helps in making the difference in the market place. Does advertising really have an impact on consumers nowadays? If advertising is not prompting consumers to purchase a soft beverage, why is the soft drink Company spending so much money on advertising?  This study will contribute to the academic literature by revealing the degree of influence advertising that has on consumers‟ buying behaviour. No research has been previously carried out to uncover the role of soft drinks advertising in purchasing decisions. 

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

The primary objectives of the research project are to design and implement online survey on the effects of marketing of soft drinks, which would assist Yogurt Companies in analyzing ingredients and nutritional values of their products.

          The objective for embarking on this research project is to find solution to the problems facing Yogurt Companies in analyzing ingredients and nutritional values of their products system processes: -

i.        To design and implement online survey on the effects of marketing of soft drinks of the company.

ii.       To keep real-time records of ingredients and nutritional value of their products on the internet.

iii.      To provide a forum for customers to communicate their opinion to the company on a particular product of the company.

iv.      To provide high storage capacity for the companies activities.

v.       To provide adequate security for data of the company to enable easy auditing.

vi.      To facilitates easy retrieval of stored data.

vii.     To deal with unforeseen problems that arises anytime.
